Blind Contour Drawings

3rd and 5th graders were inspired by artist, John Bramblitt, and practiced drawing "blind".  This was much harder than he made it look!  Blind contour drawing is great for practicing hand-eye coordination and helps see what we are drawing better.

Check out our students doing blind contour drawings of their hands:

Children's Museum Halloween Art Contest

This is the 48th year for The Indianapolis Children's Museum to host a Halloween Art Contest.  My students have turned in some AMAZING artwork for this contest!  The theme this year was Vampire Vacation OR A Favorite Halloween Memory.

It might seem a bit early to be drawing Halloween pictures... but with fall around the corner, it will be here before we know it!

Winners are announced at the end of September.

Check out a few submissions:

Good luck to all the students!!  You're all winners in my book! :)

Artsonia

Want to check out all of the amazing artwork created at North Grove Elementary?  OF COURSE YOU DO!!!!  Check out artsonia.com and search for North Grove Elementary's online art museum.  You can look up your child's artwork and even let them comment on their own artwork and write an artist statement.  This is such a great way to view their artwork AND to get your out of town family members involved in your child's art experience.  There is even a way for you to purchase items with your child's artwork on them.  Hope you enjoy viewing!!
