The ART FAIR is almost here!!

Get excited!!  North Grove is having it's FIRST ART FAIR EVER!!  Every student has been hard at work creating a masterpiece in art class to show in the fair.  It'll be such an awesome night!  Mark your calendars for Nov. 10th!  It will be open from 5-7:30.  This is such a great way to support your favorite little artist as well as support the arts.  Please invite anyone you would like as this is open to the public.  MORE THE MERRIER!! :)  

There will also be matted frames available for purchase for each student's artwork.  In no way are you expected to buy one.  There will also be free refreshments!!

Kandinsky and Stravinsky

2nd grade students observed artwork by Wassily Kandinsky and looked for abstract features.  Students were inspired by Kandinsky's artwork as well as Igor Stravinksy's "Firebird Suite".  While painting, the classic tunes by Stravinsky filled the classroom and students painted the different emotions they felt as they listened to the tempos change.  I absolutely love how these turned out!  Check out more on artsonia.com!

Value, Line, Texture

4th Grade just finished reviewing value, line, and texture, three of the 7 main elements of art.  They completed their values by choosing line designs that created a dark or light value.  Great job 4th grade!
